Don's Little Place
~
High up in the Cimmeron
Where the jack pine meet the sky
Stands a cabin in a meadow
That money can not buy.
~
It's lease acquired with sweat and toil
And many a loyal year.
No neighbors for miles around
Just cattle, elk, deer.
~
A spot of ground
He shares with the wild and the free
His gardener is Mother Earth
She grooms each flower, rock and tree.
~
A tree for Tad and Mom and Dad
Mark the corners of this plot.
Planted in quiet reverence
On this-Don's little lot.
~
No permits, no surveys
Sealed with just a shake.
Those who are invited here
Should only memories take.
